Easy to make Paper Roses. Beautiful and Inexpensive Gifts

Paper Rose pen

Paper Roses

Paper Roses are fun and easy to make.

When we were kids we would make crepe PaperRoses.  They make fun and inexpensive gifts for Mother’s Day,  Teacher Gifts or Secretary’s Day.  You can make them as stand along roses or place them on the top of a pen for a fun and pretty alternative to a plain pen.   You can make several rose pens (in different colors) and place in a small cup that is then placed on top of a desk.  These are perfect as inexpensive gifts.  With so many teachers and other people to give gifts to sometimes staying within our household budgets can be a challenge.  These are pretty  and inexpensive gifts.

Make them in white instead of red for a fun sign in pen for showers, weddings, etc.   I purchased all supplies except the green crepe paper (couldn’t find any) and pens from my local Dollar Tree.   I also used a low temp glue gun (and glue sticks) that I had previously purchased at my local Michael’s store.

 Crochet Rose Embellishment

Crochet Rose embellishment are a great way to dress up plain items.   I bought this t-shirt at Michael’s when they were having a sale.  Plain t-shirts were $2.00 each!  You can’t beat the price, but unfortunately pretty plain Jane. I liked the V-neck.  It seemed perfect for my plans to embellishment with crochet roses.

Don’t worry my crochet hook to the rescue.  I decided to embellish the v neck section with 3 roses and 2 leaves.  I used simply soft caron for both roses and leafs.  The easy to follow video tutorials are available on my youtube channel.

Check the playlist;  “Flower and Leaf projects” Choose the quick and easy deco rose, and the leaf is the “small leaf”

These crochet roses use basic stitches and can be made in your favorite colors.  The rose is worked as a long strip and then rolled up and then the edges are sewn.  I have seen other roses but many of them seem to be more complex.  I like to simplify things.  I think if you aren’t enjoying what you are doing or if you are frustrated you will probably not complete your crochet projects.   The great part about these roses and leaves is that if you prefer you can make them into pins and that way you can remove them to wash your items.    I have uploaded a free Youtube video tutorial for you to want for both the rose and the leafs.    The links for the video tutorials are on the next page.
