Boye Ergpnomic Crochet Set
It’s Giveaway Time!
It’s no secret that I love to crochet. I would crochet 24/7 but alas so many pesky things like housework get in the way. I had seen this set at Wal-Mart and was curious about it. It retails at my local Wal-Mart for $19.99 which is a great price since it comes with 7 crochet hooks (Size D /3.5mm to K /6 1.5 mm) , yarn needles and a carrying case. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s pink which is one of my favorite colors. I wanted to try them out and see if they really were comfortable. I’m always looking for ways to cushion my metal hooks. I will even wrap a rubber band around my hooks and then slide a gel pencil/pen grip over the top to help avoid hand pain and fatigue.

By the way, I really loved these hooks. They are very comfortable and work great. They also are good for both knife and pencil grip holds. I tend to hold my hooks like a pencil and this gives a nice edges for your fingers to fit. Then when my hands get tired of when doing small Ami’s I tend to use a knife grip which is also comfortable with these hooks. I hope you will enter for your chance to win. I would like to win these because I can’t really spend too much money now as it is. Since my Spanish class is hosting a trip to Italy and Spain, and my mom wants me to pay most of the trip money, I need to save up as much money as I can. Hi Yolanda, I’m from México and we can’t get this type of sets that cheap and in that great quality. Unfortunately here we have one “big chain” than sells this kind of sets but it is sooooo expensive!! So since I was 12 (the age i started crocheting) i had to get stiff cheap hooks and I would really like to crochet with this comfortable ones.
I really love to crochet. My husband is building me a second blanket ladder so I can hang up some of my blankets, which I really appreciate him for doing that for me. Pink is also my most favorite color & with my carpal tunnel in my right hand, I feel would the cushions would add more comfort than my bamboo handle ones.

Those hooks look amazing. I’m always crocheting and looking for hooks for comfort. I have a few favorites that I use constantly and of course they never wear out but unfortunately they get misplaced or someone hides them from me. Right now I am doing a lot of hats for newborns in need, my goal by the end of this year is to have 100 hats for this organization. I am also crocheting many awareness items for Conquer Chiari to raise money for the organization I am very involved with since losing my daughter five years ago to Chiari Malformation. I stopped crocheting after she died and left her two babies behind but then became very active again in crochet about a year ago. I’m hooked and it is the best therapy ever. Hello xx I followed you here from YouTube. I didn’t know you had a blog, or even what a blog was! (I had to ask my sons) but now I’m here I’m glad you directed me this way. I would love to win this hook set. I have never seen these here in the U.K. I am a relatively new crocheter, I got into it as hand therapy after a nasty break on my left wrist that put me in a plaster cast for 11 weeks. I lost a lot of strength and movement from it which was a major pain as I use a crutch in my right hand to help me walk and totally needed my left wrist as good as new for carrying etc, but 99% is now back thanks to crochet! My therapist is amazed and recommending crochet to other patients. Now I have all the strength back, the pain and stiffness is gone and the movement of the joint is almost back to normal. As a big bonus I also have a new hobby that I LOVE. I am totally addicted to crochet! I am still amazed how a little hook can turn a ball of yarn into useful things like blankets and clothing. Your video tutorials on you tube are so easy to follow and have help me learn and fall in love with crochet, thank you xx

Thank you so much for the giveaway and all your awesome videos Yolanda! I have neuropathy in my hands, so I’m always on the lookout for new crochet hooks to try out. Sometimes just changing things up can extend the time that I’m able to crochet. I find it difficult to use regular metal hooks, so I usually crochet with bamboo hooks, but those don’t give much support to the hand. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to buy any of the more expensive brands with the comfort grips, so I would love to try these out!!

It has only been recently that I have started to experience fatigue in my right hand when working on my crochet projects. I think it comes from a computer desk job using a mouse a great deal during the day, then crochet a lot evenings/weekends. I just use a plain metal hook. I have been thinking about adding in some tools/supports to help with this issue. A set like this sounds like a great idea.

I would love to win the set. The pink reminds me of breast cancer survivors or who is battling cancer and would crochet something in honor of those.
Why I would like to win: I crochet a lot and I’m always looking for ways to make my hooks more comfortable, especially the smaller hook sizes. I’m always adding rubber grips to them or making handles for them. I find hooks that come with handles are sometimes to short or to bulky and don’t offer the grip and comfort that I’m looking for. These hooks look great! I crochet a lot of amigurmi and I make a huge donation of 40 to 50 to the IWK which is the children’s hospital in my city every year for Christmas. When I’m not crocheting amigurumi, I like to make throws, afghans, pillows, beaded bracelets, storage containers, hats, scarves, mittens, baby clothes and lots of others things. My husband calls me a one women crocheting machine lol. 🙂

First let me say thank you for the time that you take for each video, I really appreciated it! With your help I have created items that I would not have done on my own due to my “Dyselia” and for that I must say Thank you! I have created 25 different items for my new grandson, my dranddaughter and for that my son is very pleased and so am I.
From the age of 12 I have created the same granny pattern over and over again and stoped enjoying the art of crocheting because of that one pattern. Althrough, those day are now over thanks to you.

I fell on the ice a few months ago and broke my wrist. I had to have surgery and the bones were repaired by inserting metal pins or screws) into them. It took about 2 weeks of healing and not being able to sleep in my bed because if I turned onto my side I would lay on my wrist which was very painful. The doctor removed my bandages and gave me a removable cast to wear that had to be worn for 6 weeks. When I finally could did not have to wear the cast any longer, I had to go for physical therapy because I still did not have very good range of motion and there was still some significant swelling. I completed the physical therapy about 2 months ago but I still have some pain in the wrist and my wrist gets tired quite easily. I am not able to hold the crochet hooks and crochet for maybe 20 minutes at a time. I belong to a group at our church called Yarns of Blessings and we crochet chemo caps and afghans for people diagnosed with cancer as well as baby afghans, booties and bonnets which we donate to our local pregnancy crisis center. I would love to have these hooks with the gripper which have more density and be easier to hold. I think that they would enable me to crochet for longer than just 20 minutes at a time. This would enable me to finish the items we give to the cancer centers and the pregnancy center. I have been a subscriber for at least a year if not longer and enjoy reading your blog.I make the booties and cap you proved in your baby layette pattern recently and enjoy getting the tips you share with us. I would be extremely pleased if I would be awarded this crochet hook set.

It is wonderful that you are doing this giveaway. I would personally love to win this set because I love to crochet, but since I’m only thirteen, I can’t really afford different sized hooks. Anyways, keep up the good work and thank you for posting tutorials.
I subscribe to your YT channel and have basal thumb arthritis. This is where the cartilage where your thumb connects to you hand deteriorates. It makes it very painful to hold anything like a crochet hook, paint brush, or anything requiring a gripping motion between thumb and other fingers. I have been making the rubberband covers for my hooks but had not heard about these. I would love to have the Furls, but cannot afford to have 7 hooks at $75 each! Ouch! Thank you for your review of these. If I don’t win, I will most likely buy a set of them. Thanks again!!

I would love to have these to crochet with, the carrying case is extremely handy as I am hospitalized often and use crocheting to pass the time but usually just throw my current hooks in a side pocket on my duffel bag.

I really appreciate this opportunity to win these ergonomic hook set. Where I am located, I can’t find any hooks with soft grips nor hooks with grips. I have tried using wine bottle cork but it just doesn’t fit well. I still love to crochet while following your video tutorials inspite of my carpal tunnel syndrome on both hands, very limited yarn materials & colors. A soft grip hook would definitely help my fingers. I do hope and wish I can be picked to win these lovely, hand/finger friendly hook set from Boye. God bless you and more tutorials to come. I moved to my husband”s country, live in a small village. Even to get a thread I must go to a city 1 hour way, no branded thread or hook, no precise hooksso dificult to grab and pull up the tread :(( … I will be so happy if I can get that branded one. Thanks for a chance 🙂
Hello I would really love to try these out. I just got a grandbaby and I make her all kind of things from your youtube channel. The regular ones really hurt my fingers. I enjoy making all kind of new and exciting blankets hats scarfs and baby outfits for my granddaughter.

I took a break from crocheting for many years and when grand babies started happening I used your tutorials on youtube to get back into it. Thank you for them and the time you give to others… and yes would love the hook set as I tried the cheaper ones from Amazon and the handles constantly slip off. I glued them on but still they were not worth it. Also the size printed on them did not make the alpha number so would love to have a much better set!! Thank you

Hi Yolanda, I would love to win the crochet hook set that you are giving away. Arthritis in my hands is keeping me from working on hats for Christmas presents and these hooks would be a lot easier to use. Hola Yolanda… Me encantaría ganar la rifa pues tejer a crochet es mi pasión y no puedo desempeñarlo al máximo pues tengo una lesión en la muñeca derecha pues soy clarinetista desde hace 7 años y además una caída empeoró el daño así que me encantaría poder tejer durante mas tiempo sin tener incomodidad y ya que dices que son ergonómicos suenan perfectos… Además aquí en Venezuela no venden ganchillos que tengan soporte si acaso se consiguen son de metal solamente….
