Crochet Carrot Bag

Easter is almost here and for many that means Easter Egg Hunts and Easter Baskets.  There are so many baskets to choose from on the market but how about crocheting something a little different.   A few years ago I crocheted this little orange carrot bag.  One of the reasons I really  like it is that kids can use it after Easter is over.   I think it is a great Easter Projecter – Crochet alternative to traditional basket. During a Easter egg hunt the bag can be used to store your Eggs.  After the holiday it can be used to carry small toys.

How to make a simple Heart Graphs without fancy software

Heart Graph for C2C (Corner to Corner) square

Heart Graph

Learn how to make simple graphs without fancy software.  First a disclaimer:  I am not a professional artist.  As if that wasn’t obvious.  However I can draw some basic things.  I love seeing all the crochet and knit projects using graphs.  I used to do some cross stitch needlepoint back in the day so I am familiar with following a graph.  Making your own simple graphs is not difficult.  I am technology challenged.  I still do so much stuff the other fashioned way.. using a pen and paper.   Here is how I made the heart graph to use in my Valentines Day square.

Crochet Heart – Easy C2C (corner to corner) Heart Square pattern

Crochet Heart For C2C (Corner to Corner) Square

A Crochet Heart seemed like a fun project to make . Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. I wanted to make a project to go with that special day of love.

During this last couple of months I have been busy making blankets for grandkids. I was starting to look around for a blanket I could make for my granddaughter.

I didn’t want the regular blanket. I wanted to come up with something cute and that says how much I love her. This might be the answer. My square is almost ready. I just need to sew in the yarn tails.

Can You Really Use Social Media to grow your Business? Yes, you can!

Using Social Media to Grow Your Business.  Here are a few tips.

It seems that everyday another social media platform comes around.   With so many platforms out there it can be confusing and even overwhelming.  For people like myself who are technology challenged it can seem even worst.   Sometimes I just want to put my head down and hide.   I must admit that I’m not the type of person who jumps on the bandwagon quickly.  I’m not what you would call an early adopter.   This has actually been a good and a bad thing.  On the good side: Did you know that recently a new app or was it a platform (I don’t know but doesn’t matter now) known as “Peach”  actually launched and went out of business within a few hours of launching their business. (Read article here )  On the bad side:  I am sometimes the last to get on board and get on board kinda late.   However with time I have come to realize that this is the world I now live in.  A world where everything seems to scream out for my attention.  What is a woman to do?

Pretty, Fun and Easy Christmas Ornaments – Great for Kid Project

Easy Christmas Ornament using Wire

Fun and Easy Christmas Ornaments.

Before I had kids all my Christmas ornaments were made of glass.  Well at least the ones I bought at the store.  I have always enjoyed crafting and making my own Christmas ornaments but when I had kids the Christmas ornaments began to disappear year after year.  This was mainly due to the fact that they kept getting broken as we would decorate the tree with the kids.  This is a great tradition but it can be costly and even dangerous.   So reluctantly I moved onto plastic Christmas ornaments.   The first ones that came out were not that attractive and you could see the seams which was not good.   However with time these plastic Christmas ornaments have become quite good.

I like to make different Christmas ornaments each year and put up on a tree we use in the family room which is decorated only with homemade decorations.  I have decorations on that tree that were made with my children.  It always brings back happy memories when I see that tree.  I also have a separate tree in the living room with only store bought decorations or decorations that have been given to me by others.   This year I have been busy coming up with other decorating ideas.
