My new Knit lovie animal book is now available

I wanted to share the news;  My new knit animal lovie book is now available.  Gee, I didn’t know you could knit.   I hear this a lot.  But the fact is that yes, I am bi-stitchual… is that a word?   I enjoy just about every craft.  I still haven’t delved too much into scrapbooking.   I have made some cards and have basic supplies but the bug hasn’t hit me yet.

I learned that my new Knit Animal Lovies book is now available at LeisureArts.com   I designed 12 animal lovies but these are the 10 that were the final selections.    Each square has a different design so you can mix and match whichever square you like to the lovie of your choice.  I had so much fun making this.  I have a Crochet lovie book and people wanted a knit book.   These designs are different from those in the Crochet book.   (a couple overlap like the Puppy and Owl).     The books will be available in crafts stores such as Joann’s, Hobby Lobby, Knit Picks, Amazon, and many others  in January 2016.    It is a great value.

I wanted to share the info with all of you.  I know that many of you knit and Animal lovies make a great gift for little ones.  I love making these to give at Baby showers.    I wanted to share a few photos with you.  If you want to order your copy please go to this link:   Knit Animal Lovies Book

.  I’m really happy with how the book turned out.  I think you are really going to like it.  Keep on reading to see some photos of the lovies in the book.

Crochet Baby Cardigan – Part of Baby Layette Set

Crochet Baby Cardigan

Crochet Baby Cardigan

Crochet Baby Cardigan

Whew!  The Crochet Baby Cardigan / sweater portion of my Crochet Along (CAL) is finally complete.  Today the last video for this item was uploaded.  This sweater is so cute and a little different than what you usually see.  I decided to use a LeisureArts baby layette pattern for this crochet along.    Each week I will be uploaded short video portions of the items.  This allows everyone time to complete that portion of the instructions before moving onto the next rows/rounds.   I can’t even imagine trying to film, edit and uploading the entire set in one video… Hmmm, it would be like 12 hours long.. no bueno, and not allowed by YouTube.

The pattern can be purchased from LeisureArts.com  (Click here to purchase pattern)  and will allow you to follow along with me.  It is also a great way to learn to read patterns or at least demystify them a little if you aren’t already a pattern reader.   Remember, reading patterns is just like any other skill.  It is something you need to learn and not an ability you automatically know.  It’s like riding a bike.  You weren’t born knowing how to ride a bike, but thru lots of practice (and falling) you eventually learned.   Now you can enjoy a bike ride whenever you want. ( Or circumstances allow).  It’s the same with reading written patterns as well as diagrams.

I am creating a course to teach you basic crochet stitches (some advanced), how to read patterns, diagrams, etc.    I am excited that soon it will be ready and available to everyone.   On the topic of the crochet course, what type of things would you want to see in it?  Please write it on the comments… i.e., new stitches, reading charts, working in rows/rounds,  reading diagrams, etc.

Mini-Minion Inspired Ami

Crochet Minion Amigurumi

Mini-Minion inspired Ami

This Mini-Minion Inspired Ami was so fun to make.  I love the Minions  okay disclaimer here this is not an official Minion doll.  I made this little 4 1/2 inch (9cm) inspired by the Minions.  I think most kids and a lot of adults love the antics of the Minions.  I wanted to make something that could be held in the hands of little ones.  This could also be used on a key-chain.   This Ami is fun to make and it’s a great way to use up your yarn scraps.

I based basic stitches but I did crochet in the round for most of it.  I think the hardest thing is the magic circle and keeping track of your rounds.  I highly recommend some kind of row/round counter.  A stitch marker is a life saver.  I guess I just don’t like to live dangerously since I always use stitch markers.
