Cute little Crochet Llama

Today I am so excited to be participating in a blog hop with a group of very talented women.  Llamas are all the rage this Christmas Season.  We have decided to jump on the Llama craze and bring you some very cute Llama theme Christmas Ornaments.  So today we are sharing the #Llamalove

As part of this blog hop, I wanted to share this beautiful Crochet Llama Amigurumi which was designed by Lupita Suarez of Loopy Yarns.  Lupita has done such a great job at designing this cute Llama.  She designed this Crochet Llama Amigurumi to be a soft toy.  I have adapted the pattern by changing the yarn weight and hook size.   A free YouTube video tutorial will show you the techniques and stitches you will need to crochet this cute Llama Amigurumi.  A link for my YouTube video appears at the end of this post.

You will need to go to Lupita’s website to download the pattern in order to be able to complete this Llama Amigurumi.  You can also see some of her other beautiful projects on her Ravelry page.  Here are the links:   Written Llama Pattern  and    Lupita’s Ravelry  Page

If you would like to have your original designed featured as either a YouTube video tutorial on my YouTube channel or as a blog post please let me know in the comments below.  (Full designer credit will be given to designer and links to your blog and/or Ravelry page).

Crochet Apache Tears Hat the easy way

Crochet Apache Tears Hat the easy way.  When I first saw the Apache Tears pattern many years ago I fell in love with it.  My YouTube video tutorial for the Apache Tears pattern has been a viewer favorite.  With so many crochet and knitting projecting it seems I always have tons of half-used yarn skeins.   If you’ve been following my posts of videos for any time you will know how much I hate to waste yarn and God forbid throw away partial skeins.

While looking thru my stash I found some colors that I felt would make a nice colorway.  I choose shades of teal, mint, blue/greens and white.   This pattern looks best when using several colors.  You can make the hat all in a solid color but that doesn’t really seem to do the stitch pattern justice.   With the cold weather soon upon us I wanted to make a hat using that same great Crochet Apache Tears pattern.

For the Crochet Apache Tears hat you will need 5 colors of medium weight yarn.   I used small amounts and it was probably only a couple ounces of each color. This hat is for a 19-24 inch head circumference since it does stretch.   If you want to make it for a child I suggest using a smaller hook size perhaps a size H (5.0mm) hook.  The rest of the instructions would remain the same.

For those who prefer a video tutorial, I have posted the links to my free YouTube videos on the last page of this post.

Easy Crochet Ribbed Hat – A beginner level Crochet Hat

An Easy Crochet Ribbed hat was on my list of projects.   With the weather finally turning a little chilly this month I have decided to write up a super easy crochet rib hat pattern.  I wanted it to be able to be easy enough for even beginners to crochet.  The hat is made in a flat panel so there is no need to know how to crochet in the round.  This one is probably one of the easiest and pretty crochet rib hats.

You can choose whatever type of yarn you want.   I used acrylic since I plan to give many of these hats to charity and as we all know not everyone has the time to hand wash.. lay flat to dry, etc.   Acrylic is so forgiving and easy to maintain.  I also like that there are so many colors available that you can find a color to suit just about anyone.

You can adjust the length by just changing the number of beginning chains.  If you don’t want the brim (folded edge) to be so wide just start with fewer chains.  On the other hand, if you plan to wear it as a slouchy and want it longer just begin with more chains.

Supplies needed:

4 oz. of Medium weight yarn

J crochet hook (6.0mm)

scissors

yarn needle

measuring tape
